I'm always searching for good cat magazines, but unfortunately, there aren't a lot of choices outside of the breeder-oriented Cat Fancy.
I recently subscribed to Feline Wellness, published by Redstone Media Group. It's a quarterly publication that focuses on feline health topics.
Pros: Good mix of articles, promote feeding canned food instead of dry, include articles on homeopathy and alternative medicine
Cons: Quarterly frequency, impossible to find on newstands (I had to subscribe sight unseen).
Another magazine based in the UK, Your Cat, is a bit of a puzzle to me. It's a monthly publication devoted to all things cats. I've read through two different issues and don't have a formed opinion yet.
Pros: Nice, glossy paper, oversize format, hefty size with lots of articles and tidbits, decent-sized Q&A section
Cons: Not completely sure of its focus, as it includes articles on health and wellness, but will suddenly have a section on calendars/products and pop-culture stuff, promotes dry food, many of the cats/questions talk about going outdoors, impossible to find on newstands, some articles on health subjects are too general (not enough useful information in my opinion)
Conclusion: If you're interested in a People-type magazine, check our Your Cat. If you're interested in health/wellness subjects, try Feline Wellness. I will continue to subscribe to Feline Wellness and not Your Cat.

Ooh, ooh, I think I know this one. :-) RE: UK and cats going outside - I remember reading somewhere that's considered healthy for cats there. Of course, I'll never be able to find where I read that. It was some US vs. UK thing - you know, like "elevators" vs. "lifts". Basically, where a rescue group in the US might ask you to promise your new cat will be inside-only, one in the UK would ask if s/he will have appropriate access to the outdoors.
I know that part of it is a UK way of thinking (outdoor vs. indoor). But the entire magazine is such an odd collection of articles, lists of freebies/contests, letters, and more that I found it confusing.
I was hoping that looking at two issues would sort of firm up an opinion, but I think it just left me more perplexed.
