Green tomatoes

It was a tough summer here. I had lots of tomatoes on the vines, but none were ripening and the plants were drying up. I picked all that I could, then Googled to see if I could ripen them indoors. Tucker and Benny were curious about what I was doing.
Tucker: this is not food.
One of the suggestions was to put them in a box with an apple  (which gives off gases to help them ripen).
Ripen, schmipen! I just want this box.

I've had them in boxes for about 10 days, and they are starting to ripen already. My hope is to make more tomato sauce and/or salsa yet this fall.

Isn't there a recipe for something called fried green tomatoes?? Maybe you can try it while you wait to have all those tomatoes ripen.

Green tomato relish or chow-chow? That is what my Grannie used them for.

Those green tomatoes are beautiful and I hope they ripen soon so Tucker can get his box.
