A temporary cat bed

Tucker loves to sleep on jackets, especially puffy winter ones. After shoveling snow one evening, I took off my jacket and snow pants. Within moments he was on the jacket. Don't worry; I let him sleep there until he woke up.

You might notice in the photo above that his eyes are milky. Sadly, when he went to the vet for the FLUTD, I learned he has cataracts in both eyes. Sometimes cataracts are caused by diabetes, but Tucker has regular bloodwork (every 6 months) and nothing has shown diabetes, thankfully. The vet said he can see ok now, but of course, he will lose more vision as time goes by. It's sure hard to watch your pets age, isn't it?

I think he looks as handsome as ever. :) And comfy, too!

Aww, Tucker...You look very cosy there, for sure.

Can anything be done for the cataracts? Of course humans have their eyes lasered for that (my mom's had it done on both eyes), but I'm not sure if it's possible to do it for cats, or perhaps if it's cost-prohibitive.

How's Sadie doing?

I think it is worse to see your pets age than your parents. Your parents can tell you what they want but your pets can not!

I'm glad Tucker got lie on the snow jacket as long as he wanted. I think that cataracts are not uncommon among older kitties - hopefully Tucker's vision will hold out for a good, long time!

DH took his jacket off and put it on the work bench near the pellet stove.. Fleurp found it and parked herself there until she had shed enough fur on that coat to make another cat :)

I bet that jacket felt mighty warm and it had Mommy's scent all over it. I'm so sorry to hear Tucker has cataracts. It is very hard to see our babies age but they are amazing animals and they don't even think of themselves as handicapped.

Tucker looks pretty happy there. :)

Puffy coats are just SO cozy! Johnny has cataracts also, and he seems to be doing OK--I think cats are so more adaptable than humans.

Tucker looks so content cuddled in your jacket.
It is hard to see them age...my Oscar kitty (16) is getting stiff joints. I love him to bits, though.
Ear scritches to you , Tucker.
