Diary entry

I've kept a journal since I was 12 years old. I went back and read entries from late 1998, when I got Tucker. It was an awful time in my life; I was going through a divorce and some other things, so I didn't write a lot about him. I did find one entry from Christmas Eve 1998 (I was at my parents' house and brought Tucker along).

You don't need to read the text. Notice the shape of the writing on the page.

Here's why:
It says "Tucker's paws were here so I couldn't write there." I remember him sitting on part of my journal.

I'm going to get back to regular posting. I miss it, and I still have lots to share about the cats.  Thursdays will now be Tucker tribute day, based on a comment.

It's very neat you still have your old journals, and with mention (however brief) of Tucker too.

I'll look forward to seeing Tucker's tribute posts. A lot of people do a "Friday Flashback" with their "angels," but except for one or two, I've never had the heart to do that for Annie. I still can't look at photos of her that were taken the last few months of her life, they make me feel sad and sick. I don't want to remember those last few months. I do wish I'd had a digital camera for most of her time with me, though. I have so few pics of her (compared to the boys) and even fewer of Chumley.

Peace.

I have personal journals too not nearly as detailed now as I wish they were but they do give me some idea as to what was going on. I am so glad you will continue to share Tucker with us. One of the things I had to do was reorganized my disjointed photo files. I needed to have the photos of Abby ordered and dated so I could access them easier.I needed to go through and redo so many of her photos and to honor her I turned them into b/w images and put the date on each of them. It was cathartic and emotional and brought forth many memories. Some very hard. ♥

I love the explanatory note of the paw print margin. :-)

(And I'm thinking I must have met the sweet boy fairly early - as I would have still been traveling for work in that era.)

How sweet that you wrote around Tucker's paws - that would never have occurred to my human to do!

I have kept journals through the years but I don't keep them. They get tossed after a year or so.

How awesome thought you have this memento of Tucker. I totally get the not writing where he was sitting. One cannot move a content cat!

I wish you didn't have to write the tribute. I hope you find some comfort in remembering the love you shared.

What a nice memory to have. I wish I had kept journals that included the cats...both past and present. I look forward to your Tucker Thursday posts.

I'm glad you will still be posting about Tucker. He is very missed. That is so cool you kept a journal and I had a good chuckle about Tucker's paws being in a spot so you weren't able to write there.
