Chewy.com product review: Tiny Tots lamb treats

We were a bit disappointed in the offerings for review at Chewy.com, but decided to try a lamb dog treat to see if the cats were interested. We received one bag of Solid Gold Tiny Tots treats for dogs, in lamb.

Despite what the bag says, they are not really "jerky" pieces. They are small bones, about 1 1/2" long, and are quite soft. They're easy to break apart. In looking at the ingredient list, however, garlic powder is listed as the 11th ingredient. . .which I didn't notice until AFTER I gave the cats each a treat. According to the ASPCA, garlic in concentrated forms is toxic to cats. Since it's pretty far down the ingredient list, the small amount I gave the cats is probably not going to make a difference. However, sadly, I won't be giving the cats these treats, just to be cautious.

I wish these didn't have garlic powder, as all of the cats really liked them. However, they are a product meant for dogs and not cats. Perhaps we'll have better luck next month.

That's too bad. We don't understand why pet food makers put garlic in their foods...probably for flavor...but there are other ways to get flavor.

I say natural and as unprocessed as possible is always best - I love freeze-dried chicken and turkey!

There are actually cat foods (or there were last time I went out to read labels) that had garlic as an ingredient.. they said as long as it is a small enough dose, it isn't a problem.. but I still have serious issue with it.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. I had to forgo this month because there was nothing I could give Jack.
