Celebrating a special family birthday

On Sunday, my grandmother turned 93. She had a difficult summer with illness, and we weren't sure if she was going to pull through. She did, and our family decided to throw her a birthday party.

This was my "Thanksgiving" this year, since the event was out of town and a few days before the holiday.

My sister Jill showing Grandma her cake, cupcakes, and display my niece and nephew made.

Me with Grandma

Not everyone gets to blow out a 93!

Though  hectic and a long day, Grandma truly enjoyed it. She got tears in her eyes at least twice as she saw people she hadn't seen in many years. And that's all that matters. :-)

Wow, that is quite a feat to live that long. Sure hope I make it that far. She looks good and what a wonderful thing to do for her to have a party. Great pictures.

Even though I'm sure it was a bit of a hassle, I know the memories of that day will bring you joy for years to come.
