Chewy.com review: Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost Minis treats

This month's product is Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost Minis treats in chicken. (They come in two other flavors, duck and rabbit.)

The good:
* Freeze-dried ingredients
* Good value--lots of treats in the bag
* Does not contain wheat, corn, soy, grain, gluten, artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives

* Low calories--2 per treat
* The first four ingredients are meat

The not-so-good:
* The ingredient list is longer than I thought it would be, and includes fruits and veggies

These treats are freeze-dried and lightweight, and a nice little size for cats.

The verdict:
Benny would not eat them. However, he can be picky about his treats.

Ringo liked them and ate them readily.

Now, Sadie went absolutely nuts for these. When she was younger and liked a treat, she would take it and run away to a "safe" spot to eat it. It's been a long time since she's done that, but she did it with these treats. She would have eaten as many as I'd given her.

Please, mom, just ONE more!

While there are more non-meat ingredients in these than I'd expected, they are a nice alternative versus something like Temptations. I will certainly buy them again.

Veggies are really cool. Like sweet potatoes and spinach! Yum. Some kitties like cranberries and melon, which I have never tried.

We like these lots too, although we do like the freeze-dried chicken and liver treats we also get better. Humans and companies should realize that all meat treats are big winners with us cats - most of us don't care for the veggies (although I do eat cantaloupe and broccoli sometimes).

BTW, we are never allowed Temptations or most other highly-processed treats. My human should take some lessons from us, MOL!

Those do sound like great treats. Around here, we don't get many treats since there are so many of us and it gets a tiny bit expensive. You all have a great evening.

I love the look on Sadie's face - the head tilt is adorable! Obviously she loves those treats.

Awww, how can you not resist that sweet face Sadie is giving you. I would have probably given her the whole box.

Sadie sure has that "give me more" look on her face! We'll be reviewing these treasts too.

I'm not sure I wouldn't have given Sadie the whole bag if she looked at me like that..

I'm with you on the ingredient list.. I like a nice simple list with lots and lots of meat for an obligate carnivore... but these are a sometimes thing, and as such the wee little bit of veg added to the diet as a result wouldn't amount to much (well unless Sadie looked at me with those eyes)

A Sadie while I work from home

 I could hardly believe my eyes a couple of weeks ago. Sadie came and sat on the futon behind me as I worked from home one day. She'd ne...
