Thrifty Thursday: Garfield picture

Today's post features an embroidery given to me from our friend Susan:

She said she found it at a Goodwill. She primarily bought it as a gag, but I actually find it charming. Someone took the time to freehand a drawing of Garfield and even embroidered the receipt's name on it (Holly in lavender thread).

I immediately thought of another 1980s Garfield embroidery I own, made by my paternal grandmother:

This hangs in my craft room. I am not sure, but I think she traced a drawing and made her own pattern. My grandfather made the wood frame.

Those are cute, I especially like the one your grandmother made.

Maybe it was Holly that stitched it.

:) The one your grandma made is impressive--that's a lot of stitching!

That is adorable, and so sweet of her to give it to you..

now I want to go out thrifting and see if I can't find a third to add to your collection :D

Why can't we be friends?

Now that Sadie is feeling better, she's become a pest when we eat dinner. She was trying to get to my dinner plate, when Lucy jumped up...
