Thrifty Thursday: Little Golden Books

Update: I had commented that I was looking for a winter coat. I've found one for $9--down filled, exactly what I wanted.

I love Little Golden Books. A number of years ago, I started picking them up secondhand. I soon learned that I needed to narrow my topics of interest, because there are so many titles!

I have three topics I collect:
Cats
Christmas
Sesame Street

Because I don't bid on eBay or look for "rare" titles, it can take many months before I find a new title for my collection. I recently found BOTH a cat and a new Sesame Street book at the local St. Vincent dePaul for only 30 cents each:

I now have 12 different Sesame Street books:

I will have to see how many cat-themed ones I have. I haven't counted them recently.

Do you like Golden Books?

The ones I remember were well worn from my reading were "Tootle" and "The Little Engine that could". Trains were popular with boys, but I never became a steam engine engineer. . . . I did become another stereotypical of the time boy's dream occupation, but that is another story.
