This month's product is Solid Gold canned food. We received Sunrise Delight (chicken, duck, and pumpkin).
The good: Grain free, no corn, wheat, or soy
The not-so-good: Contains pumpkin, which not all cats like
This food is a chunky style with gravy (though the gravy is thicker than some foods we've seen).
While the list of ingredients is generally good, I'm disappointed that it contains potato starch, pumpkin, and pea fiber. It seems a "trendy" thing to put pumpkin in many cat foods, sadly.
The big question is, what do the cats think?
Ringo was interested, but didn't finish the entire bowl.
Benny was hesitant. He took a few licks and left the bowl mostly untouched.
We aren't sure why the cats weren't more enthusiastic. They generally prefer pate style food, or perhaps the pumpkin was a put off (none will eat pumpkin).*

Well it could have been the potato starch or the pea that turned the cats off. Ingredient lists in cat foods are really getting ridiculous.. Obligate carnivore people.. OBLIGATE!
We like pumpkin here, so we'd probably like this - it does sound kind of carb heavy, though.
That is too bad that they didn't care for it.
We're not fans of chunky foods...so we don't think we would like that one either.
Well now we didn't see dat choice or we woulda been all over it. MOL Sorry ya' didn't like it.
