Thrifty Thursday: Flour sack towels

I like using flour sack towels in the kitchen. Imagine my delight when I found a set of (never washed) hand-colored towels at the local St. Vincent dePaul.

They have a "Holly Hobbie" look to them, and each one has a cat in the design. They are colored with Sharpie markers.

My favorite is this one. Love the kitty in the stroller.
To set the color, I put them in the dryer on high for about 15 minutes before washing.

Adorable! I never knew you could set the color by putting the towels in the dryer. Makes sense though. Takes a Wisconsinite to come up with that. :-)
