Chewy.com review: Backcountry freeze-dried treats #chewyinfluencer

This month's product is Backcountry freeze-dried cat treats in salmon (chicken is also available).

The good: freeze-dried meat, no corn/wheat/gluten, decent-sized bag good for multi-cat families

The not-so-good: I was dismayed that these treats included dried peas and dried potatoes

I was puzzled that these treats had no smell. With most freeze-dried treats, I expect them to smell like, well, meat. Perhaps the added ingredients dissipated the smell?

I had mixed luck getting the cats to try these treats. The boys were not interested at all, while the girls liked them. Lucy ate them plain, and Sadie liked them as a food topper.

Lucy says yum.
It seems the reviews on Chewy's website were mixed too--about half of the cats like them.

While I'm not crazy about the added ingredients, they are far better than most commercial treats. If you have a multi-cat household, give them a try. Someone is bound to like them.

Disclaimer: We received one package of treats in exchange for an honest review. The opinions here are our own.

Glad the girls liked 'em, at least.

A fair review; 50/50 split.

I prefer freeze-dried meat, no extra added stuff. I'm a purist!

Great review. We were mixed here too, but Sammy would have eaten the entire bag if I let him.
