Sadie has had almost a week of the prozac. These kinds of medication take time to work, and our vet gave me the ok to increase in a month or so if we think she needs a higher dose.
This is one of the patches of thin fur, on her right flank. It is sad to see so much missing fur.
Even the end of her tail is bare. Her belly is far worse, but I didn't want to upset her by trying to get a photo.
We are crossing our fingers and hope this helps her.
Toby has always been very sensitive. He once started pulling out his fur because he was unhappy about something. Thankfully one shot of Pred took care of that problem. So we really hope this medication works well for you.
ReplyDeletepurrs that you can figure this out for her....

When I brought a new kitty into our household several years ago, the older cat licked all her belly fur off in frustration. She also went on meds. They resolved it by never being in the same room at the same time. It was interesting to see. If I was in the living room with one cat and the other wanted to be there they'd just switch places. And give each other a wide berth. Sort of like the changing of the guards!
ReplyDeletePoor kitty, I hope that helps.
