 We are excited to announce that Benny has turned 20! We had cake, ice cream, Temptations treats, and turkey baby food.

Sadie: Don't forget about ME, mom! I turned 12 yesterday.

Of course not. I bought you a catnip banana, just for you.

Sadie: Yeah!

It's time to celebrate! Today, our Benny turns 19 and Sadie is 11!

Benny got a meal of a Fancy Feast, a variety I don't usually buy.

I ordered a Dairy Queen ice cream cake with a special design on it.

We'll have Temptations treats, toys, and more fun tonight. We're so happy that Benny is still with us, and we're glad we can spoil our boy for another birthday.

But wait, there's more--another birthday to celebrate!

We celebrate Benny and Sadie's birthdays on the same day, but given the special age that Benny is, we thought he should get his own day.

We belatedly announce that Sadie turns 10! It's hard to believe the tiny kitten we rescued is a mature lady.

Happy birthday to Benny and Sadie! We're having a commentathon!

Today, Benny turns 17 and Sadie turns 9!

We are celebrating by having a commentathon! For each comment left, we will donate .50 to our local shelters Project Guardian (TNR) program. For a number of years, HAWS, one of the local shelters, offers free spay and neuters (along with rabies vaccine) to unowned outdoor cats. We've used their services three times--in 2013 for a cat we called Bella (who we no longer see), and last December for Lucy and Blackie. Blackie was already neutered, so he received a rabies vaccine but not an ear tip.

Lucy was spayed and given an ear tip (before we knew she wasn't feral).

There has been a decline in cats/kittens brought to the shelter since starting this program, so it's proof it works!

The commentathon is open until Friday the 25th. We'll follow up with the amount donated.

Happy birthday to Benny and Sadie!

Benny turns 16 today. It seems unbelievable that he's this age. Outside of his arthritis, he is in pretty good shape for his age. He's a love bug, our peacemaker, and a very purry kitty.

Sadie turns 8 today, which is also hard to believe. At times I still see that tiny kitten we brought home. She's a feisty girl who sure loves her daddy.

We're celebrating early?! What?!

Sadie and Benny have birthdays on the 23rd--Benny turns 16 and Sadie turns 8.

However, I will be out of town on a vacation that day, so I bought a cake and we celebrated early.

I actually had 16 candles for the cake, and a little cat cupcake pick that I added for fun.

All lit up.

Benny noticed the candles, but don't worry, right after these pics I quickly blew them out.

For me? Mom, will this set off the fire alarm?

Both Benny and Ringo sampled some frosting. Sadie was sleeping at the time this was served, but don't worry, she'll get some too.
