On Friday night, I (Rene) met with Susan, Rosie's mom, and had a long talk. Susan had reservations about her current vet and the proposed surgery. She also had questions she felt her vet didn't address. By the time I'd left her home, she had decided to get a second opinion. She has the appointment on Saturday, and will bring copies of Rosie's records and bloodwork.
Rosie was adopted from a small rescue group in Illinois. She was a stray who'd had kittens, and was (most likely) hit by a car. Her jaw and eye were damaged and she had surgeries. Despite all of this, she is the sweetest cat and always looks to have a smile on her face.
We are not sure of Rosie's future--when I was at Susan's home, I palpated her abdomen and found two more tumors in addition to the one Susan had found a few days' before. It is possible a cancer is already spreading. I told Susan to enjoy every day, how ever many there may be.
Susan sent some photos that I am sharing with you all. I'll keep you updated on Rosie (she doesn't have a blog).

Rosie is so beautiful! She reminds me of another cat I fell in love with on the internet called Sundance.
My thoughts and prayers and purrs are with her and her family. If a long future is not in the cards for her, may they have lots of wonderful quality time before she goes.
Sending purrs for Rosie. So glad she has a loving home now and we hope for the best for the future for her.
