#91 is chicken breast.

I had coated the pieces in a store-brand Shake & Bake product (which was yummy). I went to watch a Christmas movie while Jim was at the gym. The cats' dinnertime was a little late. . 

So Lucy helped herself (Sadie was in my lap during the movie, so she is innocent)!

#90 was a surprise to me: a bag of pizza dough!

Lucy was being a pill and I had to chase her away three times while the dough was resting on the counter.

#89 is Little Debbie mini chocolate donuts

Lucy loves to rip open bags of any kind, but especially ones containing "bread" like items. Jim hasn't learned to store these in a cabinet or the bread box. . .yet.

#88 is homemade Italian bread

After Benny died, I wondered how often this series could continue. Benny was our "carb kitty," and attacked many things. However, it seems that Lucy is ready to step into his shoes. She will attack any plastic bag left on the counter.

This is a loaf of Italian bread. Note the bite marks all over the left side.

If you want to try this recipe, it's pretty easy, and very tasty (Jim gives it two thumbs up.). I got it from the newspaper.  I knead by hand but you could use a mixer with dough hook if you prefer.

It's been a while since we've had a new item for this series.

#87 is sponge candy

Also called angel food candy, it's a favorite of mine during the holidays. Imagine my surprise when Sadie started licking a piece!*

*Right after these photos were taken, I took it away from her. I checked the package and it appears there is some cocoa powder in this, but I'm not sure if it's actual chocolate or not. Either way, we don't consider it safe for kitties! Sorry, Sadie.

#86 is milk

Every morning I have a glass of milk for breakfast. A couple of weeks ago, Benny helped himself to a few licks of the milk. Now it's become a morning routine.

Note: We don't give our cats milk generally, because they may not be able to tolerate it. However, he licks about 12 times and given that he's 19, he can have a bit o' milk each morning if he wants it.

#85 is Redi-Whip

I never buy the Redi-Whip in a can but I noticed in a store display and thought it would taste good on top of my rhubarb crisp (it does!).

Benny found it right away and had to have a taste.

The series continues! #84 is a Cadbury Screme Egg (Halloween version of a Creme Egg)

Sadie was on my lap and as a joke, I offered her a lick of the creme inside. The joke was on me, because she wanted more! Note: We didn't give her more than a lick and no chocolate.

Wow, this is yummy!

#83 is Trader Joe's rice pudding.

As Benny has aged, his interest in trying human foods has increased. We'll usually let him have a taste, provided the ingredients are kitty safe.

In this case, he didn't eat any of the rice and just wanted the pudding.

The list keeps growing!

#82 is Olive Garden brand salad dressing (that you buy at the grocery store)

Lucy thought this dressing was tasty. Of course, she didn't get more than a few licks, because I don't know that the ingredients are all kitty safe.

#80 is an unusual one: Grape-Nut pudding

I follow the Old Farmer's Almanac on Facebook, and they shared this 100-year-old recipe. It's more like a custard, and it's delicious. Find the recipe here. 

I've been making it for breakfast, and Benny decided he wanted some. (The piece he's eating is upside down.)

#79 is an iced cake donut

We think Lucy was either curious or bored, because these donuts were sitting out for a few days before she discovered them.

#77 is brownies

I should say that no brownies were actually eaten, and of course we would never feed a cat brownies.

We've discovered that Lucy will sometimes chew on plastic but not eat what is inside. I've never seen her do this, but Jim caught her one time. The unfortunate part was that she did this overnight, so that by morning the brownies were all dried out.

You just never know what the kitties will be up to!

#76 is a Firehouse Subs sandwich

Jim had brought home part of a sub in a paperboard container. Someone (likely Lucy or Sadie) neatly tore open the container, only to ignore the sandwich. LOL

It's been many months since I've posted one of these. Benny was in a feisty mood recently while I was making chocolate chip cookies. I let two racks of cookies cooling. . and came in to the racks tipped over.

He had licked a fair number of the cookies too (but we still ate them).

#74 is Totino's Pizza Rolls

It is rare that I even eat these, but on a hot and humid night, it beat turning on the oven. Benny was making a pest of himself. . .

#73 is a pork chop (cooked, boneless)

I made pork chops and went outside briefly. I came back inside to a pork chop partially eaten on the floor. At first I suspected Lucy, but she was upstairs, so it was Sadie.

#72 is lettuce!

I had eaten a salad with ranch dressing, and Sadie seemed interested in the bowl. I assumed she would not care about the leftover bits, but I was wrong. She licked out the dressing remnants AND ate the lettuce bits too.*

Getting that last lettuce leaf.

*Yes, she does get fed regularly. LOL

#71 is sugar cookies!

(Yes, they are in an out-of-season Halloween bag.) First, I caught Lucy chewing on the bag. I'd set them aside to put out for the critters. . when Benny started chewing on the bag!
