Last Christmas, a co-worker gave me a copy of a book called Space Cat, by Ruthven Todd, published in 1952. It's a children's chapter book about a cat who wants to go to outer space. It's a charming book with a rather detailed storyline. This co-worker told me there were three other books in the series.
For my birthday, he gave me the other three books in the series PLUS a space cat t-shirt. He also found this interesting article about the books.
Here are books one and two:
Here are three and four. I find it humorous that there are supposedly giant mushrooms on Mars.
The t-shirt (maybe I should have ironed it first):
A rather nice grouping, wouldn't you say?
If you can find these titles, pick them up. Though I've only read two of the four, I'm sure I'll enjoy them all. And the illustrations are great too.

I've never ever heard of them, they look wonderful! Campy. :-)
What a wonderful gift!
I love collecting old books. I do not recall these. I am jealous! So I looked them up on A-mazon the bookseller. I suggest you do the same and be prepared for a shock! The shirt is really great as a collectible, but I doubt about wearing it, except on a special occasion. Don't want to damage it, as it is pretty old. Have a good weekend!
