Owl collection

Anyone who is old enough remembers that owl items were popular in the 1970s. As a young child, I really liked owls. These are some from my collection. The piece on the left is one my mom painted in the early 1980s, and the set on the right was given to me (don't remember who).

This piece is the oldest in my collection. My mom has a photo of me at 2 or 3 carrying it around. I've always thought it was kind of ugly as an adult, but since it's one of a kind and more than 30 years old, I can't give it up.

My late paternal grandmother gave me owls for birthday and Christmas gifts, long after I'd stopped collecting them. This was the last gift she gave me before she died. She was 86 when she stitched it, and my Grandpa made the frame.
Oddly enough, owls have come back into fashion. I see them everywhere--home decor, rubber stamps, t-shirts, tote bags. I can say that I have "vintage" owl items!
