I need costume ideas

I wasn't home much last night, so no new photos today. I have Halloween decorations and videos of Benny and Tucker coming soon, though!

I'm asking my blog visitors for help in a costume idea. Each year, my (Rene's) company has a profit sharing party for the employees. A different theme is chosen and we are encouraged to dress in costume. Last year, I dressed as a Beatles fan.

This year's theme is "Spirit of '76." I really don't want to dress in a disco costume, but I'm coming up blank. They are encouraging anything that was popular that year. Anyone have a thought?

Charlie's Angels was big back then. With your blond hair, how about going as Farrah Fawcett?

Ok, I turned 5 in 1976, so I don't remember too much - so I looked in Wikipedia (they list things that happened that year). Patty Hearst was convicted that year - you could go as her, it is the year that Steve Jobs and Wozniack started Apple, so you could go as one of them, The Ramones released their first album, you could be one of them, those are the most interesting things I found but there are a ton of things that could be fun on their list - even if they are a bit obscure. It just depends how you want to go - Spirit of '76 to me kind of seems like it should be something patriotic almost, so you could go that route too.

A rainbow poncho? Flared jeans - preferably orange? :-)

Anything curdoroy - again in bright colours? :-)

Oh I'm reminiscing!! I was 7 years young! LOL! GOOD LUCK - there are some great ideas from Laila and Minchie and Amy!!

Hugs to Tucker, Benny and Sadie!

Take care

Hmm, my first thought was bicentennial....so dress up like Betsy Ross sewing up a flag. :-)

(and looking at the earlier comments, this means great Amy's think alike!)

OMG...I was 13 in '76...all there WAS was disco! Citizen Band (CB) radio was popular, and big hair bands were making an appearance.
Thanks goodness this isn't about the 80's, I don't remember much of THAT decade...heh heh.
