Cat hammock!

A while back, my friend Amy sent me this link as a sort of gag: http://www.kittycradle.com/

I thought--I could sew up one of these myself! So I did, using fabric from my recent thrift-store find. It's two sided; one side is cotton and the other fleece.

I sewed some Velcro on each corner.

I hung it underneath a dining-room chair and waited.

One day later, Benny had discovered the hammock!

He knocked off one of the Velcro pieces and had some butt overhang, but he didn't seem to care.

I think I will eventually modify this design to use something other than Velcro--maybe a snap or button?

So far, no one else has tried it out. I am hoping that Sadie will use it. It's just her size.

That is so cool, and even cooler that it was used! :) I'm sure if I tried to be all clever like that The Crew would ignore it, but I bet full well if you send one to me they'd all be like, this is the best ever mom, why don't you do things like this for us??

:) I vote for buttons. I've never really been able to hammer in a snap properly.. Or you could do a hook and button, like overalls.. or ties.. oooh.. ties would be freakin adorable!! :)

Benny is such a good tester. He gave it his butt of approval. So cute.

That's pretty clever! We wonder if our mom could make us something like that.

That is so clever! I bet a heavy-duty snap would hold pretty well--I may have to try that...
