Starting the new year with memories of Berries

It has been a long time since I've posted anything about Berries. She was my childhood cat who lived 19 years, and she was a sweet and special girl.

My sister recently found a photo from summer 2005, Berries' last summer with us (she died in February 2006). I don't remember this photo but I'm so glad to have it. I'm holding my niece.

Happy New Year! Sweet memories are a nice way to start a new year. Berries doesn't look to be 19 in that photo.

My human recently found a photo of herself when she was three years old, hanging out with her grandmother's cat (who later on came to live with her and her parents when her grandmother moved from a farm to an apartment). She hates childhood photos from her past (long story), but that one she kept.

That cat, in the old, unenlightened past where people did everything wrong regarding cats (let them roam outside, fed them whatever was convenient at the grocery store, etc.) lived to be around 23 years old.
