Long-time visitors know that Benny sees an animal eye specialist, about twice per year. He has been going to this clinic about 14 years!
He had a check up on Wednesday, and the news was mixed. The good news is that the inflammation in his bad eye is better, and we can give less of one drop.
The not-as-good news is that the glaucoma drops we've been using are starting to lose their effectiveness. This isn't a surprise to me; I've done plenty of reading and this happens to both pets and people over time. He's been on the same two drops for many years, so I guess it was bound to happen.
There is a bit of an up side--the two drops I give come in a combination. I'll give the combination drug twice per day (versus one drop of each per day), so he'll get the same number of drops.
As always, he was a very good boy. The clinic had some things come up and we waited longer than usual in the exam room. Benny was content to hang out with me.
Later that night, Ringo thought giving Benny a "hug" would be a good thing to do. Benny looks a bit unsettled about it, though.

Aaaaaaaaaw We luv da huggy foto. But me gets it. Sometimes ya' just ain't sure ya' wanna get a furry hug. MOL Sorry 'bout da bad mews, those things do happen. We sure hope ya'll can find somethin' dat'll work fur Benny. And by da way, we don't think Sadie was starnge lookin' at all. She was just comfy and bootyful. We're sendin' lots of hugs fur everypawdy and purrayers too.

Benny needs to start smoking marijuana for his glaucoma! Isn't that why people toke it...um, smoke it? Okay, kidding aside, I hope the vet eye doc has a new drop for Benny!
