Thrifty Thursday: Flocked kitty toys

I continue to hit the local thrift stores (one store in particular). Do any of you remember Calico Critters (also known as Sylvanian Families)? They are little flocked animals with joints and clothing.

When I was about 11 or 12, my dad gave me one he bought as a gift during a business trip. It's special to me because my dad rarely bought me anything--it was usually my mom--and I liked that it was a "dad" cat.

It's showing its age, but I still love it.

I recently found three "kittens" and thought they would make a good family.

Now my dad cat has some company on the shelf. :-)

Adorable! I think I've seen a ceramic version under the same name? But not these.

What a precious kitty daddy, and from your own dad! Love the kittens; I too would proudly display that sweet family. And yes, I love thrift shopping!

I remember them but that is about all I can say. At least I can remember something!

My human doesn't remember those flocked kittens... she is probably a little older than you are. Because if she had known about them, she would have been all over them!

You may not be dating your self as much as you think. I bought these for my 23 year old grand daughter. They are still available in the UK.
I always wanted one of the cat families and a house!
