Older cats will sometimes sleep very hard--so hard, in fact that sometimes I have a moment where I want to double-check and make sure that he's still breathing.

Jack just freaked me out today. he didn't respond when I walked in the room, he didn't respond when I walked up to him, he didn't respond when I leaned on the bed and he didn't respond when I patted him.. I finally had to call his name to get him to wake up.. he must have been having a lovely dream
