A couple of weeks ago, Ringo picked up a URI. . .and because he is constantly near Benny, he got it too. He could not shake it and became rather ill, not wanting to eat, peeing outside of his litter box, sneezing, runny eye, generally lethargic, and withdrawn.
I took him to the vet yesterday and they did a full blood panel. Elevated white cell count (not surprising), but his potassium level was low and his thyroid level is (again) off.
The vet suggested we treat the URI and potassium first, then see where his thyroid levels are later. He already has an appointment set for 8 weeks from now. Benny went home with antibiotics and a potassium supplement. He is a good boy and is ok with taking his medicine.

Poor Benny! We are sending our purrs that he is feeling better furry soon.
I'm sending lots of purrs to Benny! When the older kitties get sick, it does hit them harder. Binga just got over a UTI... and then had to get over the antibiotics making her feel ill and nauseous. She's back about 95% but it took a while!
Purrayers and POTP to sweet Benny ! Hope he can shake this off and feel better soon.
Love you, Benny. Praying you get over this hurdle and feel better soon. Mommy is trying so hard
retroactive purrs..
