Benny, 2000-2020

Thank you to Ann for this graphic. Benny’s passing was peaceful. Jim held him in his arms  as he went to sleep.

Jim adopted Benny as a tiny kitten from a local  shelter. I moved in when Benny was not even two. Benny was an active cat who loved to play. He adjusted to me bringing in Tucker to the household.

He was an easy going cat who loved everyone and every cat. The only thing he didn’t like was dogs. He was patient about doctor visits, pills, eye drops, endless blood draws.

I taught him clicker training, and he learned a bunch of tricks. He was a smart kitty who loved to please his people.

We know how fortunate we were to reach his 20th birthday. We also know how blessed we are to be working from home this year. He got so many kisses, hugs, pets, and treats this year.

We thank all of our friends, family, and cat bloggers for the love and support. Please know that we hold all of your thoughts in our hearts.

You are now undertaking the long journey through grief. While others may share that grief we all walk it alone. There are no right or wrong paths, no proper way to carry oneself on the trek, no set amount of time to complete it. Some steps will come easier than others. There will be rogue waves of grief that you won’t see coming, and knock you back days. But you will come through it. If you get lost let us know. We have been through it before and we might be able to help you find the way out.
