Our mean mom would have whipped that sweatshirt right out from under one of us! Okay, maybe she would have, if she were feeling crabby.

And by the way, the book wasn't always sad. The last few chapters were sweet. It did take a few days to read the sad parts, but we were together, and she whispered I love you a lot, and that was okay.
